Mayor John Tory proclaimed this weekend Canada United Weekend, encouraging residents to come together as a community to safely support local businesses here in Toronto and right across Canada. Yesterday, as part of the Canada United campaign, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, Toronto Region Board of Trade, the national chamber network, the Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) and more than 65 of Canada’s leading brands rallied Canadians to “show local some love” by buying, dining, and shopping local.

Toronto Region Board of Trade CEO Jan De Silva said in the release: Our small business members have been hard hit by closures and capacity restrictions due to COVID-19 and they need our support now as they continue to reopen. The Toronto Region Board of Trade is proud to get behind the Canada United movement, and we encourage Torontonians to shop and dine local during this August weekend! More information here.
